Shoreline Educational Support Professionals Association (SESPA)

Represents bargaining unit members including secretaries, office managers, technical employees, student supervisors, paraeducators, nurses, health assistants, security monitors, crossing guards, family advocates and substitutes. SESPA is an affiliate of the Washington Education Association (WEA) and the National Education Association (NEA).

SESPA is  part of the WEA Cascade UniServ Council which is where our Uniserv Rep, Lyn Sherry, is located. Being a part of WEA as a member you have the opportunity to take our professional development offerings. They are offered at a minimal cost (usually $20/non member up to $150). If you want to know what is being offered you can check here. The NEA offers members a national voice. Have your voice heard!  Be a member of SESPA/WEA/NEA!

What does SESPA do?  The Union's biggest task is negotiating your contract. The contract with the District sets out protections for you, working conditions, as well as your pay.  You only get to have input and vote when you are a member. Join us!

The Union also provides:

Updates on Covid-19 impacts

Educator Employment Liability Insurance Program (this is not provided by the employer)

Legal representation for employment related issues

Discounts for insurance, car rental, restaurants, etc.

These protections and benefits are only available if you are a member. Please join us!
